The SAEM Project, an emancipation model towards addressing the SDGs 1&4.

On Friday, 23rd September 2022, the Sahel Emancipation Model Project was officially launched to address the issue of streetism in Ghana’s major cities, including Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale.

The project is designed to tackle Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 4, with a particular focus on reducing streetism. It operates as a decentralized model that encourages the active participation of communities in mitigating the challenges faced by children and young people who turn to the streets in search of daily survival. The initiative aims to collaborate with relevant authorities and institutions to develop sustainable solutions to this pressing issue.

The launch was conducted virtually and was open to all individuals passionate about the cause. During the event, Ms. Samira, founder of Sahel Global Network, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the project’s objectives and emphasizing the importance of community engagement. She also called for a renewed spirit of community service.

The event lasted two hours and included a question-and-answer session, concluding with a call for volunteers to join and support the project’s mission.
